Parks and Recreation

The Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission, in November of 2005, purchased 42 acres of land adjacent to Augusta Township, located on Bemis Road in Ypsilanti Township. This property will be used for the construction of a Recreation Center in my district.  The location of this property will make the center easily accessible to the residents of my district in the Townships of Augusta; York; Ypsilanti, and the City of Milan. The dollars to purchase this property and to construct the Center will come from a dedicated millage that was passed by a County-wide vote in 2004.

I fervently support this project, and will work with the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission to be certain that special transportation for seniors and youth will be provided to and from the Center.
